MUSIC STORE SERVING INDIANAPOLIS SINCE 1948
Our History
Our story began in 1948, when Maury Oldham founded Musicians' Repair Service after training at C.G. Conn Repair School. Once opening the doors to the downtown shop, Maury quickly made a name for himself as Indy's choice repairman. With the growing success of the business, he began selling new and vintage instruments to meet the needs of his loyal customers.
In the 1970s, Maury's son, Rick, joined the repair store as his father's apprentice. Becoming a highly skilled repairman himself, Rick quickly became an essential part of the team. Years later, Maury and Rick changed the name of the store to Musicians' Repair & Sales to better reflect the company's expanding products and services.
Fast forward to today; Rick and Dan have taken over ownership of the business with Maury still offering his expertise and extensive knowledge. The team has grown over the years to include additional family members, as well. Rick's wife, Nancy, handles the financial and administrative duties. Their children, Lindsey and Dan, also play an important part in the store's ongoing success. Lindsey is now a music therapist, while Dan applies his business expertise and handles all of the outside school accounts.
Outside the office, the family never strays far from their musical roots. You often can find Dan and Rick playing in The Serenade Jazz Orchestra throughout the Indianapolis area.
We have quite a history and our family is proud to continue serving the Indianapolis community. It is because of the hard work and dedication of multiple generations that our family has been able to continue to serve local musicians with the same standards set forth over 65 years ago. Our promise is that you will experience professional, friendly and quality service every time at Musicians’ Repair & Sales. Simply put, it’s what our family stands for.
